Districts that opted in for Green Hills AEA physical media resources can access the collection of thousands of resources cataloged through Insignia. This online catalog can be used to check out physical resources from the Green Hills AEA Media Library.*

Advanced Search Options: Patrons can quickly find specific resources using the system's advanced search features, which include options for author, title, subject, audience level and more.
Availability Status: Patrons can easily check the availability status of library materials, including whether items are currently on loan, on hold, or available for immediate check
Personalized Accounts: Patrons can create personalized accounts within the Insignia system, enabling them to view and manage their borrowing history, save searches, create reading lists, and receive notifications about due dates and holds.

Our Media Consultant service gives your district expert support to build and maintain an effective, student-centered library program. We offer help with collection development, library space improvements, and teaching research, digital literacy, and reading skills. We also provide training for librarians, paras, and teachers to ensure your library stays a vibrant, engaging, and valuable part of student learning.Â
Services are flexible and may be provided as ¼ ,½ or full day(s). These can also be used as part of your district’s bundle of Educational Service Consultant days with the AEA.
Green Hills AEA media vans provide two-day a week van delivery service to transport learning materials, written communications, printing, and equipment to buildings throughout our agency service area. AEA Cooperative Purchasing is an initiative of Iowa’s Area Education Agencies. The goal of AEA Purchasing is to combine the purchasing power of Iowa school districts to offer aggressive pricing on materials, goods, and services. In 2014 participating Iowa schools and AEA’s saved over $7 million on their purchases through the program. Participation in AEA Purchasing is without cost to Iowa’s schools.
In order to be more efficient and to offer schools a wider range of print, design, and specialty products, Green Hills is partnering with Heartland AEA. All school orders for copy, design or other products will go to Heartland AEA Creative Services via an online ordering system. Our Green Hills vans will continue to deliver completed orders to schools. Schools will have access to a more comprehensive set of print and design products.Â
Effective July 1, 2025, districts without an active service agreement that includes van delivery will incur a $14 per stop shipping and handling fee for deliveries to/from their schools, excluding special education materials and equipment.
