There is an apparent gap in the existing data base regarding the topic of the negative effects derived from playing League of Legends and how it affects a player's impulsivity. As the game is known to be one of the most popular games in the world and for its incredibly toxic community, the lack of coverage on its relationship to impulsivity is alarming and as such this research was conducted in order to try and fill in the gap. To do so, a survey questionnaire was created and subjects were taken from all over the internet, with all participants being from the NA server and aged 12-19. The survey was modeled heavily off of the Barratt Impulsivity Scale, a widely used measure of impulsivity. The results found that there was a lack of statistical significance regarding playing League of Legends and impulsivity, suggesting that playing League does not effect impulsivity levels. Thus, it is not the game itself that causes players to exhibit toxic and impulsive behaviors but rather outside forces not measured by this study.
