Bonjour! I grew up in Littleton, Colorado and started learning French in high school. It wasn't until a trip to Paris my junior year of college that I fell profoundly in love with the language and culture of France. I received a B.A. in History with a French minor from the University of Colorado in 1997 and promptly "moved" to Pézenas, France as an au paire. It was this experience that helped me really acquire French. My first teaching position was at Evergreen Middle School in 2001 then I moved to Summit County in 2003 to teach French. In 2014 I completed my Master of Arts in French from the University of Northern Iowa.
I am a member of AATF (American Association of Teachers of French) and serve as the Colorado-Wyoming chapter Vice-President. I am also a member of the Colorado Congress of Foreign Language Teachers and the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Language. I organize student trips to France and have facilitated home-stays for visiting French students in our community. In addition to French, I am passionate about learning new technologies and promoting technology use in the classroom.
When I am not working, I enjoy travelling, cooking, skiing, and playing golf. I also volunteer at the Breckenridge Backstage Theater and the Lake Dillon Theater Company. My husband and I greatly appreciate being able to live and work in such a beautiful place. We have a dog named Lily that keeps us busy hiking and playing.
