The High School Band is for students in grades 9-12 that have had at least one year of experience playing their instrument and are ready to progress to intermediate and advanced level music.
This program consists of four sections:
Marching Band- The marjority of the fall semester consists of marching band which plays at football games, parades, and several marching competitions.
Concert Band- The end of the fall semester and all of the spring semester consists of concert band which performs public concerts and various concert based competitions.
Jazz Band- This band takes place throughout the year and focuses on the performance of Jazz, Rock, and Latin music genres.
Mariachi- This group takes place throughout the year and focuses on the performance of Mariachi specific music.
The following instruments can be played in Marching Band:
Flute, Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Tenor Sax, Baritone Sax, Mellophone, Trumpet, Trombone, Marching Baritone, Sousaphone, and various Percussion instruments.
The following instruments can be played in HS Concert Band:
Flute, Oboe, Bassoon, Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Tenor Sax, Baritone Sax, French Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Euphonium, Tuba, and Percussion.
The following instruments can be played in HS Jazz Band:
Alto Saxophone, Tenor Sax, Baritone Sax, Trumpet, Trombone, Bass Trombone, Guitar, Bass Guitar, Piano, Drumset.
The following instruments can be played in Mariachi:
Violin, Trumpet, Guitar, Vihuela, Guitarron.
