A product launch lives or dies on how it looks in photos, videos and posts afterwards. At the Flyer, the setting does a lot of the work, but only if the reveal and media plan are designed around it.
Lighting cue: dim the space, then hit the product with a sharp light as the cover drops.
Backdrop: position the stage so the wheel sits behind the product in camera shots.
Sound: a short music sting or countdown builds anticipation.
Rehearsal: run the reveal several times so the cover, lights and emcee land together.
The hour you choose changes everything. Late afternoon gives daylight views across the bay. Dusk offers dramatic skies and city lights coming on. Night puts the focus on lighting and the illuminated wheel. Visit at the same time as your planned reveal to see what cameras will capture.
Set a branded media wall near the entrance for arrival photos. Create a separate press area with power, seating and a clear view of the stage. Give journalists a fact sheet, product images and a contact person.
After the reveal, guests want to touch and try. Place demo stations around the space with trained staff ready to explain features. Keep stations spaced so photos are not crowded.
Brief your photographer and videographer on the reveal timing, the capsule moments and the shots you need for social channels. Assign someone to capture short clips for same-day posting.
Build in photo opportunities that show off the location: a branded frame with the wheel behind it, or a capsule photo spot. Give guests a hashtag so posts are easy to find.
