The platform shapes what your audience can do. Choose it based on the experience you want, not on what your company happens to use for daily meetings.
Video meeting and webinar tools: good for interactive sessions with breakout rooms, Q&A and polling.
Microsoft Teams live events: convenient for organisations already working in the Microsoft ecosystem.
Custom streaming: branded streams to your own landing page or social channels.
Virtual event platforms: for multi-day conferences with exhibition halls, networking and agenda tracks.
How will attendees register, and what data do you need to collect?
Do you need breakout rooms, networking or exhibitor booths?
How much backstage control do producers have over speakers and scenes?
How will Q&A and chat be moderated?
What reporting is available after the event?
Does it work within your company's IT and security policies?
What happens if the stream fails? Is there a fallback?
If many attendees are outside the company, avoid platforms that need special accounts or downloads. If attendees are spread across regions, think about time zones and whether you need live translation or captions.
Before committing, run a short test with a few colleagues on different devices and networks. Many problems only appear on a mobile phone, a home connection, or a locked-down corporate laptop.
Get Out! Events lists the platforms and production tools it works with on its hybrid event production page.
