Singapore EXPO sits in the east, away from the city centre, and its location shapes how visitors arrive. The upside is direct MRT access and a short trip from Changi Airport, which suits regional guests. The task is to turn those arrivals into a smooth walk to your registration desk.
Expo MRT: the busiest route for many shows. Put clear signage from the station exits to your hall.
Car parks: confirm current parking arrangements with the venue and share them in visitor emails.
Taxis and ride-hailing: name a specific drop-off point so drivers and visitors find each other.
Shuttles: useful for hotel or office pick-ups, with a marked drop-off area.
Airport transfers: time these for overseas exhibitors and VIPs, and allow for flight delays.
Pre-registration with a scannable code is the simplest way to keep lines short. Separate counters for exhibitors, VIPs, media and walk-ins so one slow group does not hold up the rest. Staff a help desk for badge problems, away from the main flow.
Use floor graphics, overhead signs and a printed or digital map so visitors know where to go. Schedule stage talks at staggered times to pull crowds to different parts of the floor. Keep an eye on hotspots during the day and adjust stewarding if one aisle starts to jam.
Large halls are long walks. Provide seating, water points and clear directions to toilets and food. Brief stewards on emergency routes and first aid locations, and make sure everyone knows who is in charge of crowd decisions.
Plan exits as carefully as entries, especially if many visitors leave for the MRT at the same time. Then the teardown begins, so have crew, transport and the venue handover checklist ready.
