MAJOR BASEBALL DIVISION
PLAYER DRAFT:
The Player Agent, Coach Manger, President and Secretary oversee the player selection process.
The draft will be based on the skill level of each player as outlined on the assessment form. If there is no assessment form, the group will use their best judgment.
Children of a coach will be placed on the same team as that coach. Coach’s children will be the first child listed on the roster for that coach.
Unless parents request separate teams for siblings, or their skills are not of the same level they will be kept together and drafted to the same.
Each Minor A and Majors team must include one solid pitcher, catcher and batter.
In the event of contraction of teams, players from the teams contracted will be placed back in the draft pool to be chosen by the President.
Draft Selection Process:
Player agent, coach manager and president will make a determination for how many teams can successfully be made from the pool of available players from the day of assessment.
Player agent, coach manager and president will make available a list of eligible players based on player assessments. It is acceptable if there are more players than available roster spots. Any players not selected will be moved to the minor A list of available players.
Determination of head coaches will be made and approved by player agent, coach manager and president.
Coaches will each have a list of available players to choose from. Selection process will be a random draw for who selects first, unless one of the coaches has 2 children playing, in which case they will select last.
Coaches will first select their own child(ren). If each team has an assistant coach, they will then select their assistant's child.
Coaches will then select from all available league age 12 year old players until no 12 year old players remain.
Selection should continue in the following order.
First round: coach A selects 1 player, coach B selects 1 player, coach C selects 1 player, etc.
Second round: each coach selects one player in reverse order from round 1. For example Coach C selects 1 player, Coach B selects 1 player, Coach A selects 1 player.
Once all 12 year old are selected, coaches are able to select from remaining eligible league age 9-11 players.
Each team will select until their roster size is officially at 12.
Any remaining players will be moved to the Minor A division list of eligible players.
