Dr. Snelling’s research interests include additive manufacturing with an emphasis in metal-based technologies. Before his career in academia, he held industrial positions as design engineer at the Department of Energy’s Savannah River Site, a staff research engineer developing industrial structural health monitoring solutions, and additive manufacturing R&D engineering position at General Electric. He earned a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of South Carolina.
