We are interested in the fundamental study of organometallic chemistry, which investigates the interface between traditional organic chemistry and inorganic chemistry. We are currently delving into the synthesis of ruthenium(II) complexes for their viability for catalytic olefin hydroarylation, which is the addition of aromatic C-H bonds across olefin C=C bonds. These catalysts are expected to facilitate C-H activation of non-activated aromatic residues followed by subsequent olefin insertion into the Ru-Ar bond to produce alkylarenes.
