Know About ME
I am a broadly trained Geographer whose research and teaching concentrates on Geospatial Science and Technologies (e.g., Geographic Information Systems, Remote Sensing, UAV, and Global Positioning Systems), Data Science, and Spatial analysis to explore human-environment interactions and sustainability through interdisciplinary approach that could help us to gain a deeper understanding of people, places, and address real-world problems.
I am privileged to work as an Assistant Professor of Geography in the Department of Geology and Geography at Georgia Southern University. I am very interested in collaborative learning and co-production of knowledge that could be beneficial for communities, society, and humanity at large.
I am currently involved in a collaborative research funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and we are exploring monsoon dynamics, coastal hazards, vulnerabilities, sustainability, and resilience using geospatial modeling and social science approaches in South Asia (Bangladesh).
Prospective graduate students with interests in Geospatial Science and human-environment interactions are highly encouraged to contact me via email (mkrahman@georgiasouthern.edu ) with current resume and a brief statement of your research interests as a single pdf file.
