Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Research
In the Maternal and Child Health Interest Group, our goal is to support students of all degree levels as they conduct research in the ever evolving field of Maternal and Child Health.
Getting Started With Research
Many students know that they should complete research during their academic careers but aren't sure how to get started! Luckily, you've made it to this page which means that you've completed step one: get involved with groups of individuals who are also interested in research!
Next, know what your end goal is. "Research" is a broad term that includes presenting at poster sessions, submitting commentaries, or getting involved in a research laboratory here on campus. Georgia Southern has many resources to help you get started:
Eagles Talking About Public Health (eTAPH) - Every semester the JPHCOPH Office of Public Health Practice and Research solicits 600-word articles on contemporary and/or high-interest public health interests and topics. We are seeking submissions written jointly by faculty and students, faculty and staff or faculty, students and staff.
Research Symposium - This annual event is held each spring featuring posters, oral presentations and creative inquiry in all disciplines. Participants from all majors are given the opportunity to present, discuss, and network about their research and artistic endeavors. Submissions are generally due in March of each year.
Faculty Laboratories - There are many faculty members at Georgia Southern currently conducting research. Research Positions are generally posted on OneUSG Careers or under Available Graduate Assistantships.
The Georgia Southern Office of Research also has more information about getting published as an undergraduate student.
