The Human Development & Family Science Program on the Statesboro Campus has three concentrations:
Child Development
Child Life
Family Services
Internship sites are researched by the student themselves and must align with their concentration coursework.
Quick List of Requirements for the HDFS Internship
HDFS internships are:
completed in the student's final semester, after all other courses in the program of student are passed
a full semester, full time internship (documenting 40 hours of site and course work each week)
9 credit hours in the summer and 12 credit hours in fall or spring
require a 2.5* institutional GPA to apply
*Students who want to intern but do not meet the required GPA should reach out to an internship committee member for possible options
