The Construction Automation and Robotics Lab (CARL) at Georgia Southern University conducts interdisciplinary research in construction robotics, artificial intelligence, computer vision, and intelligent infrastructure systems. Our research focuses on developing autonomous robotic systems capable of real-time navigation, inspection, monitoring, and repair in complex construction and infrastructure environments. Current projects include autonomous robotic welding, AI-enabled crack detection, collaborative UAV-UGV inspection systems, SLAM-based digital twin generation, and intelligent sensing technologies for civil infrastructure.
