Every November, members of the Georgetown Theatre Department go on a trip to Dallas with the other school in the district to learn, participate, and compete at the Texas Thespians Festival. Students do not need to be a part of Troupe #1149 to attend festival, but to compete and go to Nationals they do need to be inducted.
For more specific information please visit the ITS website or the Texas Thespians website.
The International Thespian Society (ITS), founded in 1929, is an honorary organization for high school and middle school theatre students located at more than 4,900 affiliated secondary schools across America and abroad.
The mission of ITS is to honor student achievement in the theatre arts. High school inductees are known as Thespians. Thespians are able to compete in the Thespian Festival for awards, accolades, and scholarships.
Inductions occur twice a year -- during Fall Show and at the end of the year theatre banquet. Pick up a point sheet from Poehls in The Little Theatre.
