International Thespians Society
The International Thespian Society is the only theatre honor society for middle and high school students in the United States. Affiliation brings credibility and distinction to students, theatre programs, and schools. It is a visible, positive symbol of the quality of your theatre program.
ITS recognizes, rewards, and encourages student achievement and celebrates the work of students in all aspects of theatre – performance and production. Each student is honored on a national level and gains access to opportunities and resources beyond those of their school.

The International Thespian Society (ITS) is the honor society for theatre students. Membership is granted for meritorious work in theatre arts. Students must accumulate 10 points to be inducted into ITS. Points sheets are available here and must be signed off by directors for validity. The ITS induction ceremony will occur at the end of the year during our departmental banquet, honoring the work of our students throughout the academic year.
Every November, members of the Georgetown Theatre Department attend the International Thespian Festival (ITF) to learn, participate, and compete with thousands of other ITS members across Texas. Students must be inducted into Troupe #1149 to attend the festival, as well as compete for a chance to attend Nationals.
For more specific information please visit the ITS website or the Texas Thespians website.
