Correspondence Courses
GISD Students may earn high school credit outside of the regular school day by taking online correspondence courses. The course must be through an accredited institution and approved by the State of Texas. Below are a some options:

Credit by Exam/Exam for Acceleration
Students may earn credit for a class in which the student has not yet received instruction, by taking an "Exam for Acceleration." Students must earn a score of 80 or higher to earn credit.
GISD offers exams for acceleration free of charge. Click here for more information, and don't forget to visit your counselor for approval.
***Correspondence Courses and CBE's will go on a students transcript and grades be calculated in their cumulative GPA, but will not be factored into their weighted GPA/rank.
