Get ready to choose your courses and make a plan! Whether you are entering high school or in your last year, there are specific things you can do to make sure you are ready for whatever is coming next.

Transcript Requests

GISD partners with Parchment, a leader in eTranscript exchange, to send high school transcripts electronically, securely and confidentially, to colleges, universities, and scholarship organizations of your choice!

Schedule change requests

Regular schedule change request are considered during the first 5 school days and level/advanced drops are considered during the 2nd progress period and at the end of the semester.  Questions about student schedules or schedule change requests should be directed to the counselors.  We make every effort to support our students while also adhering to our district schedule change policy.  Schedule changes may be requested at the link below.

We make every effort to accommodated parent and student requests. However, a schedule change request is not a guarantee that your child's schedule will change.  Please see district policies for more information.

Advanced Course Commitments

Advanced and AP courses are a commitment for students and their families.  Follow the link for information about the commitment students make when signing up for advanced level courses.  The fall window to drop or exit an advanced course starts after the first 3 weeks of school and continues for 3 weeks.  Student have another opportunity to drop an advanced course for the 2nd semester during the last 3 weeks of the fall semester.  To request a to drop an advanced level course, please use the link below.

off campus physical education (OCPE)

The purpose of the OCPE Program is to accommodate students who are making a serious effort to develop higher-level skills in a specific activity that exceeds what the school district can offer through the general physical education program. The OCPE Program allows students in 6th through 12th grades to earn credits that meet the district and state physical education requirements. Only agencies who have been trained and approved by GISD can provide OCPE credit.  For more information, visit the district OCPE page (linked below).
