Postdoctoral research position

The Visual Perception & Plasticity Lab led by Dr. Tina Liu at Georgetown University Medical Center, has an opening for a Postdoctoral Researcher. Our lab studies neuroplasticity in healthy and clinical populations across the lifespan using a combination of psychophysics, eye tracking, 3T fMRI and 7T layer fMRI, brain stimulation (tDCS, tRNS, and/or TMS), computational modeling, online crowdsourcing “big data”, developmental and neuropsychological approaches. 

We are part of the Department of Neurology and Center for Brain Plasticity and Recovery on the gorgeous campus of Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. The Department of Neurology is proudly affiliated with MedStar Health and is dedicated to advancing scientific knowledge via research to improve the diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders. The Department of Neurology and Center for Brain Plasticity and Recovery participates in the Georgetown Interdisciplinary Program in Neuroscience (IPN), a Ph.D. program within Biomedical Graduate Education at Georgetown University.

Position Details:

The postdoctoral researcher will be hired full time (2-3 years active). Successful candidate will hold a Ph.D. degree in Cognitive Neuroscience, Psychology, Computer Science, Engineering, and/or related fields, with solid theoretical and technical background of vision research. Good programming skills in MATLAB or Python and experience in human neuroscience research is required. This is a fully-funded position that comes with full benefits. The initial appointment is for 2 years but can be renewed for up to 3.5 years.

The position would ideally start in the spring-summer of 2025.  Review of applications will begin on December 1st, 2024 and continue until the position is filled.
