Maya Merhige

Maya is a sophomore at Georgetown studying psychology and sociology with a minor in medical humanities. She joined the lab in September 2026 to help expand and develop psychosocial support systems for patients and families affected by cancer.

Outside of the lab, Maya is an avid open water swimmer, a board member of Georgetown Make-a-Wish, and a member of the Student Health Center Student Advisory Committee. After college, she plans to attend medical school and hopes to specialize in pediatric palliative care and pain management.
