Biostatistics Intern
Mingqian (Leona) Liu joined Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center's Cancer Prevention and Control Program as a Research Assistant in February 2023. Ms. Liu earned her Bachelor's degree in Econometrics, supplemented with a minor in Statistics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in May 2022. Currently, she is working towards her Master's degree in Data Science and Analytics at Georgetown University, with an expected graduation date in May 2024.
Ms. Liu has a strong interest in the intersection of data science, machine learning, and healthcare. She aims to leverage these powerful tools to analyze medical data, particularly within the context of the pharmacy field. During her undergraduate at the UIUC, she served as a tutor in the Mathematics and Statistics department, assisting Statistics majors with their academic pursuits. Additionally, Ms. Liu worked the role of Teaching Assistant for numerous Statistics courses during her academic journey, enhancing her grasp on the subject and its practical applications. Ms. Liu envisions a future in a leading pharmaceutical or health industry role, applying her skills as a Data Scientist to make significant contributions to the field.
