The goal of the Selectives course at Georgetown University School of Medicine is to introduce the second year medical students to various topics related to the delivery of health care. At the core of the Selectives is the importance of the development of altruism and concern for the individual patient as a person, as well as, the foundation for a concern for the health of the population as a whole. The Selectives courses are offered during six consecutive weeks for a total of 13 hours. The majority of courses meet on either Wednesdays or Fridays, from 1-3pm, except 1-4pm last day. Three courses meet at different times. Some courses will meet in person, some in a virtual environment and some will be delivered in a hybrid modality.
