Hi!
I am an associate professor at Georgetown's McCourt School of Public Policy. My research focuses on government reform, citizen-state interactions and program evaluation in the context of improving economic mobility through state capacity. I use rigorous evaluation methods to understand how administrative processes and program design affect citizen experiences and outcomes. Some of my current work specifically examines the social safety net, testing interventions designed to reduce administrative burdens.
I am also co-director of the Better Government Lab, an academic affiliate with the Office of Evaluation Sciences, and a faculty affiliate with the Massive Data Institute.
You can find my CV here.
