Charting Stormy Waters
My Mantra for Failing Forward (Week 4)
I consider that communication is an elemental key in everything, and communicating about the mistakes and failures that we make, makes us more human, due to the reason that we are not only going to highlight the things that we've done good, but also the ones that we haven't done well. We should try and fail, not on purpose but to not to be afraid of making failures, but to be afraid of not to try.
Tips for Measuring Success (Week 4)
New Status Quo
My name is Ricardo Menjívar,. As a Latino from El Salvador, I have met plenty of people from Central América and USA through this virtual exchange.. My school experience has led me to grow a deeper passion for technology and helping communities.
I was a regular 17 years old boy, from El Salvador. Until I was able to achieve a dream for me of all times. Becoming a Youth Ambassador was a full dream to me, since I discovered the program. I've learned, that I get to take part in a world that is bigger than my own, creating an identity as a global citizen that I would never have thought it was possible before joining to this program. At the same that time I learned, I also brought many things about my culture to the another Youth Ambassadors, to share a little bit of my country El Salvador.
I personally consider that success is not the end or the result of something, but the journey that it takes reach the result or the end. And in order to reach success, you will have to fail and make mistakes plenty of time until you success. Something interesting, that is entirely up to you taking your failures as a matter of inspiration to do better next time, and so on.
The Youth Ambassadors Program helped me growing my leadership skills, that listening is key in order to lead well with more people. Listening to other people what they think will help them feel more involved in something. Also, I have grown my horizons by discovering how great people from Central America and USA are.
