Ernest “Chico” Rosemond retired in 2022 after a 30+-year career in the practices of personal counseling, finance, law, event and nonprofit management. Chico’s last position was Program Director of New Strategies, an advanced executive education program designed exclusively to help nonprofits increase and diversify their sources of revenue. New Strategies is a program in Business for Impact at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business. Prior to his work at Georgetown University, Chico served in leadership roles for 15years at AARP, in positions from Event Manager to Interim Vice President of Strategic Alliances. Before AARP, he was Development Director of the National Alliance of Black School Educators (NABSE). Prior to joining NABSE, Chico had a legal career (including being named an Exxon Law Scholar), clerking for the Honorable Henry H. Kennedy, Jr., of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia and serving as the head of probate and estate planning at Houston & Howard, a Washington, D.C., law firm. Prior to that, Chico was an insurance/investment broker. He received his B.A. in Psychology and Graduate Certificate in Human Resource Development from the University of Michigan and his J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center. Since his retirement, Chico has continued as a consultant/facilitator to New Strategies. He uses his innovative and resourceful nonprofit management skills as an Executive Volunteer at Mary’s House for Older Adults (a LGBTQ-SGL friendly residence providing safe and affordable communal environments to adults 60+ in Washington, DC). Chico also serves as a Helping Hands Volunteer and Board Member at CaringMatters - a nonmedical hospice serving children, adults and families facing serious illness or grieving the death of a loved one in Montgomery County, Maryland.
