Fasika Tefera, Principal Organization Development Consultant and Executive Coach, has 18 years of combined experience in organization development, human capital development and strategy, management, and sales. She has over 1200 hours of experience coaching clients in the government, technology, financial, hospitality, and non-profit sectors. Fasika supports leaders in executing strategy, navigating change, team dynamics, career transitions, and enhancing organization and individual performance.
She has also applied her passion for making a difference by offering strategic leadership support. She served as the Executive Director of a non-profit organization focused on bringing the arts to underprivileged youth and children. Fasika also partnered with Fairfax County to offer team building and leadership workshops and received the Fairfax County Neighborhood and Community Services Distinguished Partner Award. She serves as a guest speaker and panelist for conferences, professional networks, and universities on the subjects of leadership, diversity, assessments, organization development, and career development.
Fasika obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology as a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Mary Washington, an MBA in Organization Development from Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School, and is a certified practitioner of the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). Fasika completed the Executive Certificate in Leadership Coaching program at Georgetown University’s Institute for Transformational Leadership and is an International Coaching Federation (ICF) Certified Coach.
Fasika’s philosophy as a coach is to help leaders see their potential and produce results, to become the leader they aspire to be. She engages in open dialogue based on active deep listening and trust to help individuals understand the context, nuances and multiple perspectives of their situation. As a coach Fasika supports deep learning in the coaching relationship by being a thinking partner to help clarify situations and highlight multiple options for action. She is an accountability partner, identifying strengths and blind spots while supporting the development of strategic plans to attain organizational and individual goals.
