In addition to research I try to have some impact on policy making and the public debate in my areas of expertise. This includes positions on boards of academic institutions and organizations, writing policy reports, newspaper op-eds, popular science articles and policy briefs, as well as organizing conferences and seminars meant to serve as a bridge between the academic and policy making communities. Below is a sample of these activities.

FREE Policy Briefs
SITE is the founder of a network of leading research institutes and universities in Eastern Europe called the Forum for Research on Eastern Europe and Emerging Economies (FREE). The network has as its members the Kyiv School of Economics, ISET at Tbilisi State University, BEROC, Biceps/SSE Riga, CenEA, and Cefir/New Economic School (inactive).
