The campaign is aimed at encouraging graduating students to support scholarships and/or other causes at the Law Center that are important to them in honor of graduation.
This tradition began 33 years ago with the Class of 1991, who wanted to ensure that future students could access to the same quality experiences they benefited from.
Whether it be funding for a clinic you participated in, financial aid/scholarships you may have received, or even a student group or journal you’ve been involved in.
This campaign is your chance to pay it forward.
Gifts can be directed toward any area of the Law Center, so you can have a direct impact.
Success for the Graduating Class Gift Campaign is measured by class participation. Our goal this year is to break 30% class participation and we know your class can reach that mark.
The minimum gift amount is $10.
With your gift, you will also receive a special Class of 2025 Mug!

Starting in January 2025, as you head into your final Spring semester, all seven JD sections and LL.M students will compete in a friendly competition to determine which group can achieve 90% participation or more in the Graduating Class Gift Campaign. Details below!
How does the Section Competition work?
All you have to do is make a $10 class gift between January 21 (the competition kick-off date) through May 2 (the last day of final exams). You can designate your gift to anywhere at the Law Center that means the most to you: Law Annual Fund, financial aid, student groups, programs, clinics, library... and more!

How will you determine the winner?
The first section that achieves 90% participation or more will receive a prize. The Section winner will be announced by email and listed on this site on Monday, May 5.
What is the prize?
The winning section will receive a Georgetown Law baseball cap! Yes, the same ones (but in the color khaki ) that were at Fall Fest. We know these are super popular and what better way to recognize your generosity?!
What happens if none of the sections achieves 90% participation?
Unfortunately, no one will receive a prize.
Can I still get a Class Mug?
Yes! You can still get a Class Mug with your gift! See below for dates to pick up your Class Mug. We will also send an email to remind you to pick up your mug.
I made a gift in the Fall. Do I need to make a gift again?
No, you do not need to make a class gift again. Your class gift in the Fall has been counted towards the competition. Thank you for your generosity and participation in the campaign! Your gift and support in the Fall have already made a difference for the students and the Law Center!

Here is where all the Sections stand in the competition as of Monday, May 5.
Gifts made between January 21 and May 2 count toward the competition. Encourage your classmates to make gifts and participate!
A section must achieve 90% or more participation to win.
The winner will be announced on May 5.
The winning Section will receive a special Georgetown Law baseball cap.

Would you like to be directly involved in helping your class successfully participate in the campaign this year? Join our Graduating Class Gift Committee!
Time commitment is minimal. Volunteers would work only a handful of hours between the fall and spring semesters (~ 3-4 hours per semester). We'd love a representative for each Section and the LL.M program.
As part of the committee, you will help educate your classmates about the campaign, lead your section’s fundraising efforts, and staff the events the campaign puts on throughout the year. Active volunteers of the Graduating Class Gift Committee will also get first access to Countdown to Commencement event registration and swag.

What is my gift used for?
You may designate where your money goes on the giving form. Give to a journal, club, clinic, or fund that has played a meaningful role in your Georgetown experience.
Why should I give to the Graduating Class Gift?
The Graduating Class Gift program allows each class to give back to the Law Center, ensuring that future students have the same opportunities you had. Only 70% of the cost of a Georgetown legal education is covered by tuition, and that difference is made up of alumni and friends of the university. By giving back, you acknowledge their philanthropy and pave the way for future students.
Additionally, anyone who makes a gift of $10 or more will receive a ‘Class of 2025’ coffee mug. The mug is only available through this campaign.
I have student loans to pay and can’t make a large donation. Will my gift really make a difference?
Absolutely. Participation at any level helps. The fact that you choose to give is more important than the amount you give. A high-class participation rate shows firms, foundations, and prospective students that recent Georgetown graduates are committed to the mission and continued success of the Law Center.
