Flippa Ball

Flippa Ball Term 4 2026 -  registrations close Sunday 13th September. Link to registration form.
Flippa Ball is a modified version of Water Polo. All equipment is supplied and players only need to be in a suitable swimming costume. Flippa Ball is for years 3/4 (learners pool) and years 5/6 students (main pool). The Flippa Ball competition is held at Moana Pool each Sunday between 12 - 6pm (Please note some year 5/6 games may take place on a Saturday throughout the season. This is to make sure that every team within the same pool play each other). 

Introducing our FREE Splashers Grade!

OWP is now offering a FREE Year 2 grade — Splashers — for Term 4!

Splashers is specifically for Year 2 students only, giving our youngest players the opportunity to get involved, have fun and develop their confidence in the water in a supportive environment.

Please note: Splashers is for Year 2 students ONLY. No older children should be included in these teams. We will only enter a team if we have enough players.

 
First games: Sunday, 18 October 2026                                                                                                                                 No games: Labour Weekend – Sunday, 25 October

Last Sunday of games: Sunday, 6 December

The start date is currently subject to confirmation of pool bookings. We will let you know if there are any changes.

The cost is TBA (approx $50-65) per child and this will cover team entry. In addition to this, pool entry will need to be paid weekly by each player to Moana Pool each week (spectators are free).

Parents will need to take responsibility for transporting their child to and from Moana Pool each week. A reminder that parents need to be seated in stands in the main pool not pool side due to health and safety.

If you are able to commit to the competition and give permission for your child to take part in Flippa Ball, please fill in the registration form by Sunday 13th September 2026 

What if my child isn't a confident swimmer?
Flippa Ball is a great sport to develop their confidence and ability in the water, no matter what their ability is they should be encouraged to play!There is no swimming ability necessary as the pool is shallow and the players can touch the bottom. In the main pool there is a shallow end and a deep end, depending on the height of the child they would most likely be able to stand at both ends (definitely be able to stand at the shallow end).
