Turnitin is a cloud-based service for originality checking. Turnitin utilizes a database of journal articles, books, websites, and student papers to compare submitted assignments.
In order to promote academic integrity, George Fox University has obtained a license to use Turnitin’s integrated services through our Canvas online learning system. This course may use Turnitin for some assignments. When Turnitin is used, your work will be checked for potential citation issues. An originality report will be generated that can guide you in how to create proper citations and avoid plagiarism. When you submit a final draft of a paper, your overall Turnitin score must be below 10%. Scores above 10% will result in a meeting with your instructor and could lead to a failing grade.
