Encourage students to connect

Consider opportunities for you to be known
Ensure that all modules are open at the start of the course
Write weekly course announcement and post by 12 pm (PT) Monday
Film weekly video and post by 12 pm (PT) Monday
Encourage students to fill out Course Evaluation and place the Course Evaluation link in the final week of your Canvas site
Routinely monitor online forums, engaging as necessary
Provide personalized feedback on student work within seven days
Contact students immediately if they miss weekly forums or major assignments**
Respond to student communications asap, ideally within 48 hours
Use the Student Alert Form for attendance issues**, Ds or Fs, and any other non-academic integrity issues.
Visit the Academic Integrity page for inappropriate AI use, plagiarism and other academic integrity issues.
Email Program Director and Associate Dean of significant life event's of your own.
Make notes in Canvas for future instruction

GFD students are required to engage in online forums each week. Students who miss more than one week of forum engagement in a course will earn an F and must repeat the class.
If a student has not participated in a weekly forum, especially during the first week, and has not made contact with you to explain their absence, please make a timely effort to contact the student. If the student does not respond, please notify the Program Director via email as soon as possible, copying the Career & Academic Planning Coach and Associate Dean. Current contact information can be found on our website.
