REALITY gathers pioneers in research and development of EGNOS adoption solutions for RPAS, and a set of experts in relevant fields: general and RPAS-specific regulations (EuroUSC), design and certification of flight procedures (Pildo Labs), RPAS EGNOS-based and multi-sensor navigation (GeoNumerics), and EGNOS, Galileo and GNSS analysis (DEIMOS Engenharia). Finally, the operational focus and feasibility of REALITY is manifest, given that we incorporate well-known, world-class drone testing facilities (ATLAS by FADA-CATEC, BCN Drone Centre by CATUAV) for project tests.
GeoNumerics is a small company of expert geomaticians of various scientific, technical and management backgrounds. GeoNumerics provides consultancy services, develop ssoftware components and conducts research-and-development (R&D) projects.. Their focus on the needs and technology of high precision kinematic surveying; sensor orientation and calibration, trajectory determination and their integration.
GeoNumerics is the coordinator of REALITY, as well as a provider of real-time and post-processing multi-sensor trajectory determination capabilities using EGNOS and developer of the integrity framework for drones.
The Andalusian Foundation for Aerospace Development (FADA) manages the Center for Advanced Aerospace Technologies (CATEC). This private R&D center is devoted to aerospace technology development.
CATEC has a large experience developing UAS/RPAS technologies. Having participated in 12 European projects in the last 7 years, with more than 12 active projects related to UAS/RPAS in 2015/2016, CATEC has direct collaboration with the major companies of this sector in Spain, state-of-the-art equipment and facilities. FADA foundation manages as well the experimental Flight Center for RPAS: ATLAS.
CATEC is in charge of one of the operational scenarios in REALITY: freight transport.
CATUAV is a technological company founded in 2009 offering drone photogrammetry and remote sensing services for environmental and scientific applications. CATUAV manages the BCN Drone Center, a drone testbed with its own 2500 ha. segregated airspace located in Moià (Barcelona).
CATUAV is in charge of one of the operational scenarios in REALITY: urban mapping. Additionally, it will be the drone operator of an intensive flight campaign at the BCN Drone Center.
EuroUSC Italia is accredited by the Italian Civil Aviation Authority (ENAC) as recognised consultant organisation for safety and regulatory aspects, and is not linked to any manufacturer, operator or service provider (independence criteria for qualified entities, Annex V of Regulation (EU) 216/2008). It is active in the field of non-military RPAS offering training for remote pilots and related instructors, legal and safety risk assessment and mitigation, support to manufacturers and operators to prepare manuals and to comply with regulations.
EuroUSC Italia is in charge in REALITY to monitor and steer the regulatory applicability of the project outcomes, entailing the transformation of REALITY technical results to their potential regulatory implications, and distribution along pre-identified regulatory bodies (ICAO, JARIUS, EASA and selected NAA such as AESA) and standard making bodies (ISO and Eurocae).
