Biography

Since 2017, Dr. Zohar is a senior lecturer in the department of Geography and Environmental Studies at the university of Haifa. He received his BA in 1998 from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, MA from Tel Aviv University in 2006 and completed his PhD in 2016 at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. After completion of his PhD he was appointed as a Post-doctoral fellow in the Department of Physical Geography at the Freie University of Berlin, Germany. He is interested the study of natural disasters, environmental conflicts concerning the interplay nature-society and Geoinformatics. He has an extensive background in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and prior to joining the University of Haifa, has served as a software development director of realtime GIS applications.
