This week I was invited as a guest on NPR Rochester to talk about Geneva High School’s new AI literacy course. The class, which begins this January, is designed to help students understand and engage critically with the many forms of artificial intelligence that already shape our daily lives.
In the conversation, we explored what it means to teach AI responsibly. How do educators strike the right balance—encouraging curiosity and innovation without opening the door to misuse? As we discussed, students can’t be allowed to rely on AI to do their thinking for them, but asking them to ignore it entirely would be just as shortsighted.
