Option 1
EURO 215: Central European Cultural History
Credit Hours: 4
Central European Cultural History will focus in-depth on the cultural-historical-political development of Central Europe, with emphasis on various ethnic groups and nationalities. Discussions will center around identity, culture, history, literature, and politics. The course will also utilize videos, films, and online materials. It can be accepted for the History major and minor, the International Relations Major or Minor, and the European Studies Minor.
The course fulfills the Humanities and Contemporary Global Challenges general education requirements.
Option 3
ARTH 211: Art, Museums, Urban Development in Prague and Vienna
Credit Hours: 4
Art, Museum, and Urban Development of Prague and Vienna will focus on the major museums located in the cities of Prague and Vienna. The goal of the course is to develop familiarity with different kinds of museums, from significant art museums with extensive, global collections (Vienna Museum, Kunsthistorisches Museum), to small, house museums with a single focus (Mucha, Freud Museum), or others, such as the Cathedral at Prague Castle, where a functioning church is also a museum. This course can be accepted for the Art History Major or Minor, the Museum Studies Minor, and the European Studies Minor.
This course satisfies the Creativity & Innovation and World Cultures and Values general education requirements.
