Week Thirteen - November 29th, 2024
Dear Parents & Guardians,
As we wrap up another eventful week at GIS, I would like to highlight the ongoing Grade 10 Transition Programme. The second of four ConnectEd sessions was successfully held on Monday and live-streamed, allowing more parents to participate. A special thank you to Ms. Burcu for delivering a comprehensive overview of the full DP and DP Course pathways.
Please note that, due to the upcoming Eid Al Etihad holiday, the third informative session, focusing on the Career-related Programme, has been rescheduled to Friday Dec 6. This session will also be live-streamed for families and led by Mr. Ged.
I would also like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all the staff members who helped bring the Eid Al Etihad celebrations to life on Monday morning. It was truly inspiring to see our community come together to honor the rich heritage and achievements of this remarkable nation. The event served as a wonderful reminder of the privilege we share in calling this country our home.
This week, our students also demonstrated their athletic talents during the annual Sports Day on Thursday. Records were broken, sportsmanship was on full display, and wonderful memories were made. I am incredibly proud of all students who participated, often stepping outside their comfort zones. A huge thank you to Mr. Chris and his team for their meticulous planning and organization, which ensured the day was a resounding success. Additionally, I extend my appreciation to all staff in supervisory roles and the older students who provided valuable assistance. This collaborative effort truly made the event special.
Finally, a reminder that the school will be closed on Monday and Tuesday for the Eid Al Etihad holiday. We hope you enjoy the long weekend and look forward to welcoming everyone back on campus on Wednesday, December 4th.
Kind regards
Ms Amanda
Head of Secondary School
