DANGERS OF EDIBLES FOR TEENS

Special Needs Registry

The Atlantic County Special Needs Registry is a collaborative effort between law enforcement, first responders and other community service providers to help citizens with “special needs” during interactions with law enforcement. Any person can register themselves or their loved one on the registry, which is kept private. The information submitted will only be available to law enforcement and first responders in the case of an emergency or interaction with law enforcement. For instance, a parent could register their autistic child to help provide additional information to law enforcement in the event that they were called to that child’s home or came in to contact with them in another instance. The information provided would be automatically sent to the municipality that the child lives in so that they would have information regarding that specific child. Such information as how to calm the child, triggers that agitate the child, or known places that the child runs away to could be added as well. The same kind of information can used to assist individuals with dementia or Alzheimer’s.

This is a secure website that will only be used to help law enforcement have more information when interacting with individuals who may require additional services or treatment during an interaction.
