Fairy Lane Way

There's a special path named Fairy Lane Way located right in the heart of Chase, filled with whimsical objects and magical creatures.

The path was created by Kary Pittendreigh, facilitator of Haldane Strong Start program, with the help of the children who attend the program. The path, which was created at the beginning of May, has become a huge hit for all the families who attend Haldane Strong Start. The group walks the path 3 times a week after their snack.

"It was created to assist with children's imaginations while gaining some fresh air and physical activity."

The children have decorated rocks and pine cones to place along the path. Each morning when the children head out they all carry a clip board with a scavenger hunt sheet to check off treasure as they spy them. Many different items have been placed along the path, Fairy Houses, butterflies, flowers, small mushrooms, garden gnomes, small forest animals, birds and feathers.

It promotes creativity and imagination, and encourages families with young children to spend time in nature, searching for fairies and acting as stewards for the environment.
