Section 1: Getting Started

Even though we have one "Whiteboard App" we do have different version depending on the type of device your using. For example, if you're using a Windows device you'll want to download the Windows Version. If you're using a Chromebook or Android tablet you'll want the Android/Google Play version. And finally if you're using an iPad or Mac with an M1 processor you can download the iOS version from the App Store.

In this assignment, you'll explore the following:

Watch the videos to get all the information you'll need. There's an optional unit quiz to test your understanding, however, it is not graded.

**As a reminder there is nothing to turn in. The Assignment Review is a self check for understanding and is not graded! We've also included optional challenges to help you get as hands on with the software as possible!**

Section 2: Account Setup

One of the main benefits of using the myViewBoard Whiteboard App is the Cloud Integration. Cloud integration allows for many things, but mostly the ability to sync your content and your settings. This means that every time you sign into the Whiteboard App, your settings sync and you can access your content from Google or Office 365. In this assignment, we'll spend time reviewing how to configure all these settings! Whether you use Google Drive or One Drive, all of your content and settings follow you, hence, myViewBoard's FollowMe settings. The idea is that wherever you go, your settings and content "Follow You."

In this section, we'll focus on on the following:

Section 3: Basic Whiteboarding

We know this might be your first time using a Whiteboard program. Although some things may be very intuitive there are some tools that might have features you've never used before. In this section we'll cover the basics of whiteboarding to help you get started!

As you learn these tools, we invite you to participate in our myViewBoard Community! You can access the community through www.myviewboard.com or by going directly by clicking this link. Note that you must be logged in with your myViewBoard account to post. The community is a great place to ask questions, give reccomendations for the Whiteboard Software and engage with others!

For your first challenge in the Community go to this post and introduce yourself!

Section 4: Saving and Sharing

As you've already learned, cloud integration is a key component of the myViewBoard Whiteboard App. In this section, we'll explore the various ways that you can save and share content in Whiteboard. You'll learn the following:

After learning about ways to save and share to the Cloud, what are your favorite features of Whiteboard cloud saving/sharing?

Section 5: Create and Import with the Magic Box

One challenge with transitioning to a new program like myViewBoard Whiteboard is what to do with all the content you've already created. Maybe you have folders of old SMART Notebook files or PowerPoint files. Maybe you have images, PDFs or audio files. Instead of starting all over again from the beginning, you can bring all that old content directly into myViewBoard using the Magic Box.

**NOTE TO ANDROID/iOS/CHROMEBOOK USERS**

In addition to all of this we'll explore the following:

An interesting question always comes up during this part of our training. Some teachers really want their old content while others think we should start over from scratch. Head on over to our community and let us know what you think!

Section 6: Capture and Record

Sometimes it's helpful to capture content from a website and add it to your lesson. Maybe you want to record your lesson so students who were unable to attend can watch it later (or even for those who did attend). In this section we'll explore the Capture Tool, a very helpful feature when you need to capture your content. Did I mention you can easily save it to the cloud? Have fun!

**Note that this section is intended for those who use Windows laptops**

If you're using a Windows Device, here's what we'll learn in this section of the training:

On a side note, none of this section will be in the final quiz so don't stress about learning tools you may/may not need! Just focus on what's useful for the type of device you use the most!

Step 2: Complete the assignment review

Section 7: Advanced Tools

Congrats on making it this far! Now it's time to get into some advanced tools and features that can really enhance your instruction!

**Some of the tools only work on a Windows Device**

As mentioned before some Advanced Features won't work on Android/iOS/Chromebooks. In this section pay attention to how the videos are labeled (some will say "Windows Only" while some will say "Android/iOS/Chromebook." Because all operating systems are a little bit different in how they interact, please double check to make sure the video you're watching matches the device you're using. If the video has no label, then it'll work on all platforms!

In this section we'll explore the following:

Step 2: Complete the assignment review

Section 8: Student Collaboration

Being at the board is great, but what about when you want kids to participate with their devices? Enter your Board Public Portal! This is a web based portal allowing others to send images, participate in a Pop Quiz or share their screen.

**Poll/Quiz is currently only available on Whiteboard for Windows**

myViewBoard™ Graduate Certification Test

This is it, the last step to becoming a myViewBoard Graduate! This test will cover the myViewBoard Whiteboard software. Note that some questions are scenario based and require you to apply your knowledge of the myViewBoard software in different classroom situations.

Completing the other sections in this course is not required to take/pass this test, however, it is highly recommended that you watch all the videos to be as prepared as possible. Any videos that are made for a specific system (ie Windows, Android/iOS) are not part of the final Certification. This test only focuses on skills that are found across all platforms.

Upon successful completion of the test, you'll receive an email with a certificate and your myViewBoard Graduate badge. If you do not pass the test, no worries, you are allowed to take it again! Note that you must score at least a 90% to pass.
