Please read through this page so you understand how the site works.
We will begin to post scholarship information for Grad 2026 in March 2026. Scholarships are made available as we here from their donors.
Please read through this page to understand how to apply for scholarships!
A note from our Donors!
Scholarship applications should be filled out by the applicant, not parents. Any applications that have been done by a parent may be disqualified.
Because the list of scholarships is long, we will use colour to distinguish the status of the scholarship – newly updated scholarships, open scholarships, and not active yet scholarships.
(1) Any scholarship in a red font is a newly updated scholarship.
(2) Any scholarship in black means the scholarship is available for Grad 2021 and open to applications (if applicable).
(3) Any scholarship in gray indicates the scholarship was given out at last year's grad, but has not been updated yet. We will update it when we hear from the donor.
Our scholarships are all different and many have different application or qualification processes. Read the description for each scholarship to determine how to apply. Here are the types of applications or qualifications:
(1) The scholarship has a PDF application - complete the PDF application that is linked to the scholarship and send it to the address/person that is specified on the form. Please note: not all applications come to the VCI office; VCI will not forward applications to the sponsor on behalf of the applicant
(2) There is no application for this scholarship. Recipients will be selected from the list of graduating students, who are furthering their education at a post-secondary institution, by VCI Scholarship Committee. - At the beginning of Semester 2, all graduating students will be asked to complete a survey regarding their future plans. The information gathered in this survey is used by the selection committee in June to determine scholarships that are given out at grad. The survey is posted on the Grad Google Classroom. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE GRAD TO COMPLETE THIS SURVEY.
(3) Other - Some scholarships have unique requirements. Please read the description carefully to find out how to apply.
Types of Scholarships
Our scholarships are divided into 2 categories:
(a) Virden & Area Scholarships – These scholarships are given to VCI grads and are presented at our graduation ceremony. They are sponsored by local businesses, individuals, and organizations. These scholarships are administered by VCI and the donor(s).
(b) National, Provincial, Corporate Scholarships – These scholarships are open to grads from across the province, country, or region. VCI has no role in administering these awards.
National, provincial, and regional scholarships (that are not administered by VCI) will have their timelines, so please check the dates for any that you many qualify for.
Submission dates are listed whenever possible. Please note: Not all VCI students are eligible for every scholarship. Please read the accompanying criteria to ensure student eligibility. We encourage you to check the website regularly as scholarship updates will be continue to come in until mid June.
