I am Dr. Sylvia O. Taylor, your school librarian for UPI Elementary School.

I am married to Dr. Steven Edward Taylor, a retired United States Navy officer with over 31.5 years of service. He currently works at AsTumbo Middle School. Together, we have two adult children: Jeremy Edward Taylor, 39, who lives in Washington State, and Robert Theodore Taylor, 37, who recently came back home to live with us in Dededo, Guam.
I hold a bachelor's degree in Mass Communication and am certified in Language Arts for grades 6-12 and in library services for all grade levels. Additionally, I have earned a master's degree in Reading and a doctorate in Educational Management, with a focus on Education.
I have been actively employed at the UPI Library since December 2010, and I continue to contribute to its mission.
My ASPIRATIONS…
I empower my students to boldly pursue their dreams, guiding them as they explore the rich tapestry of their creativity, varied interests, and individual talents.
Together, we embark on an exhilarating journey of self-discovery, equipping them with the tools and support they need to recognize and unleash their strengths. Through dynamic activities, stimulating discussions, and constructive feedback, I cultivate an environment that encourages them to elevate their abilities. This transformative experience allows them to express themselves in vibrant, impactful ways, instilling the confidence and skills necessary to create meaningful changes in their own lives and those around them.
