SOUTHERN HIGH SCHOOL LIBRARY
GENERAL LIBRARY RULES
The library is a quiet area where you may read a book, use the computers for schoolwork, or complete a class assignment. There are only a few things to remember while in the library:
NO FOOD OR DRINKS are allowed in the library
You must have a pass from your teacher during class time
Leave your book bag(s) on the shelf and only bring what you need to work with
Sign-In for service on any of the computers located near the Circulation desk
If you plan to use your smartphone for schoolwork, please ask permission
You need to work or read quietly. Anyone talking loudly or otherwise disturbing others will be sent back to class
Do NOT move chairs or other furniture around without permission. Please return them to their original location
Gaming devices and cards are NOT allowed in the library
This is your library, please help us keep the area clean and neat
CIRCULATION OF MATERIALS
Students must submit the Library Card Application Form to check-out books
2 books at a time for a period of 10 days
The library has over 17,000 books
OPAC is our online catalog that may be used to locate library materials
OVERDUE MATERIALS:
Overdue notices will be emailed to students on a regular basis indicating which materials are overdue and need to be returned
Students may NOT check-out a book(s) if they have overdue books or owe a fine
Students are required to pay for the replacement of lost or damaged items
Graduating seniors will NOT be cleared for graduation exercises until all books have been returned or replacement cost paid
COMPUTER
Students must have their parent or guardian sign the Education Technology Use BP379 Agreement indicating that they understand and accept all school regulations, including those regarding computer usage. Students cannot use school computers until this form is returned.
The library has 32 computer stations available for student use.
The use of computers is primarily for academic use only; students may be asked to give up their computers at any time.
PHOTOCOPYING/PRINTING
Photocopying and printing are available for student use
Printing should be kept to a minimum and is for schoolwork only

Black/White is free (w/a cap of 10 pages)
Color is 25¢ per page
