In order to check out a book, students must submit a signed permission form from home and take responsibility for lost or damaged books. Permission forms will be distributed by the librarian when students visit the library in the beginning of the year. This form is valid for the child's ENTIRE ENROLLMENT at Price Elementary School. No student will be allowed to check out a book until a signed permission is received in the library.
Kindergarten students will be able to check out books, however, library books will remain in the classroom and are NOT to be taken home.
First graders will be able check out books from the Everybody section during first semester (1st and 2nd quarter), however, library books will remain in the classroom and are NOT to be taken home. First graders may bring their library books home in second semester (3rd and 4th quarter), at the discretion of their teacher.
Second through fifth graders may check out books, may bring their library books home, at the discretion of their teacher.
Students may select 1 book to check out at a time.
Students may check out and return books during their library time or during check out times (recess and lunch recess).
Students will NOT be allowed to check out books until borrowed books are returned.
Reference books are for use in the library only.
Price Elementary does not charge for overdue books. However, if books are severely damaged, lost, or not returned, parents/guardians will be responsible for paying a book replacement fee. The student's borrowing privilege will also be suspended until obligations are met.
