Data shows that our school's initiatives to support 9th grade students are demonstrating measurable success. Data from SY2022 through SY2026 shows significant progress in keeping freshmen on track. On-track rates have increased 17 percentage points, from 72% in SY2022 (Cohort 2025) to 89% in SY2026 (Cohort 2029). The number of off-track students has been nearly cut in half, declining from 115 students in SY2022 to just 50 students in SY2026—a 56% reduction. Most dramatically, the most recent cohort (SY2026) achieved an 89% on-track rate, representing an 11-point improvement from the previous year and our strongest performance to date.
Additionally, Math failures among off-track students dropped dramatically from 16% in SY2022 to just 5% in SY2024, suggesting that focused support in this critical subject area is yielding results. English failures have similarly declined from 14% to 5% over the same period. These improvements in core subject areas directly support students' ability to acquire the necessary credits for on-time progression toward graduation.
These gains indicate that our multi-faceted approach is successfully addressing the transition challenges freshmen face.
