Let's learn about our upcoming cruise. Read the following carefully to become familiar with our course.

Scope and Sequence

Module 1 La Nave

Miami and the Hispanic influence in Florida

We will review what we learned during our train trip through Spain. The emphasis will be on Spanish 1 vocabulary and structures.

Module 2 Mia Día

The coast of Mexico

We will learn how to tell people what we do on a daily basis, such as getting up, getting dressed, taking a shower, etc.

Module 3 El Hotel

The interior of Mexico

We will travel into the interior of Mexico, and stay in a hotel. We will learn the words necessary to communicate with those at the hotel and the bank. The focus will also be on past tense and negatives in Spanish.

Module 4 La Communicación

Guatemala

We will study vocabulary dealing with communication in this module, so that we may email, call, or send letters to our friends and family back home. We will learn more about the past tense.

Module 5 Los Animales

Costa Rica

While in Costa Rica, we will learn vocabulary dealing with animals. We will also learn how to describe something in the past.

First Segment Exam

Module 6 La Ciudad

Panama

While driving around in Panama, we will learn vocabulary dealing with traffic, the car, and related items. We will also learn the difference between describing something in the past, and telling what actually happened.

Module 7 El Hospital

Columbia and Venezuela

While visiting Columbia and Venezuela, we will become involved in an accident, and have to go to the hospital. We will learn vocabulary dealing with illnesses and hospitals, while also receiving orders from the doctors and nurses there.

Module 8 El Arte

Puerto Rico, Cuba and the Dominican Republic

We will speed up our recovery by spending time in each of the three islands. While there, we will go to the theater and the museums and talk about what we like and dislike. We will also begin to speak Spanish using the future tense.

Module 9 El Aeropuerto

Hispanic influence in the United States (Texas, New York, Chicago, New Mexico, California, etc.)

We will arrive back to the US on our cruise ship, but then it's off to the airport to fly home. While waiting at the airport, we will meet Hispanic passengers from other places in the US.
