First, information specific to your class and school is provided in the Course Information area. It is important that you visit this area and read all the pages. The Course Information area can be accessed from the main page of your course.

Please access this area of the course now to ensure that you are aware of all your school and class policies.

It is possible that your instructor may have an assignment in which you answer questions about the information in this area of the course. In addition, you will be referred to the Course Information area frequently throughout the course. Be sure that you become familiar with how to access this area and take the time to read each section provided.

Second, please be sure your computer/hardware meets the minimum requirements listed below.

Third, you should become familiar with your school's required pace chart. This is a very important aspect of online learning. Your schedule and your instructor's requirements will determine your pace. By pace we are talking about the rate at which you will complete the Spanish 2 assignments.

The chart below gives an overview of the three pace options that are available. Note:You should always consult your instructor to determine what pace your school requires. Please visit the Course Information area now to find the detailed pace charts for your class.

Your individual pace will be designed by your teacher. You will be required to submit a petition for extended pace documenting approval from your parents and your school guidance counselor. More information about extended pace is provided in the Course Informationarea

Fourth, learn the rules for submitting assignments.

Rule #1:

Complete all work as directed in the lesson and always create a "hard copy" of the work you did for the lesson in a software program that can be saved!

• Save all your files to a folder you create on your hard drive or a disk. Your instructor recommends you call your folder "Spanish"
• When you save your files, use the following format for the name.
  • Lastname + the assignment number
  • Example:
  • Jones1_04Exploraciones.doc
• As you save each lesson, they will be in order on your hard drive, or on your disk.
• Note: If possible, always save and send word processing files as .doc files, or .rtf files. Other file types will be hard for the instructor to open, and you may have to resubmit.
• Important: If you need help with saving documents as these file types, call your instructor.

Rule #2:

VIP: You will need to complete your work with Spanish accent marks -- this includes both online assessments and offline assessments. Click here to learn how to do this.

Rule #3:

Print your completed work file and have it in your hand before submitting or completing an assessment.

• If you have saved the assignment, and have the hard/printed copy in hand when you go to take the assessment for the assignment, you will be prepared regardless of which type of assessment comes up.
