After learning about this issue, you may be thinking that acid rain cannot be reversed, or maybe it can be but it would be far too difficult to do so. If you are thinking that, you will be amazed by how easy it is to reduce acid rain. The first step to stopping acid rain is by implementing minuscule differences in your day-to-day life. How? Conserve energy. Replace incandescent light bulbs with LED bulbs and choose Energy Star appliances when replacing old washers, air conditioners, and refrigerators. Adjust the thermostat by a few degrees up or down to save energy in summer and winter or add insulation to your home to reduce the necessity for heat and air conditioning. As a middle school student, I can ride a bike to places in town or carpool with a friend when going somewhere farther. I can shut the lights off when I leave a room or shut the television off when I'm not watching it. It is really that easy.
