Course Descriptions
3D Design - 3D projects, multi-media sculptures, & metals
Commercial Art - Design projects including "hands-on" applications and Adobe Photoshop
Crafts - multicultural arts & crafts including glass etching & wood burning, and printmaking
Drawing & Design - pencil, charcoal, pen & ink, chalk & oil pastel drawing projects
Exploring Art - variety of interesting projects with an emphasis on styles from the past
Painting - tempera, acrylic, and watercolor painting projects
Studio Art - advanced level of art, must have completed two art courses prior to taking - includes the creation of theme-based art projects
Ceramics 1 - introduction to ceramics
Students at GCSD will be challenged each and every day to use their creativity, problem-solving skills, and collaborative efforts in order to create amazing works of art. Students will also learn to appreciate different kinds of art, learn about art history, and find their own art identity.
About Mrs. Nichols
I got my teaching degree at the University of MN - Duluth in 2017. I have been teaching for 5 years now. What made me want to become a teacher were all of my own teachers that I had as a kid - who cared for me and taught me so much about who I am today. I'm looking forward to this upcoming year as the new GCSD Middle School/High School Art Teacher! This is my dream job and I couldn't be more blessed to be here.
