Promotion Requirements

Per GCSD Board Policy IKE,  In addition to the previously stated standards for promotion, all students must meet State and Georgetown County School District attendance requirements. 

Special Education: Promotion/Retention for a student served in special education is determined by the student’s current individualized education program (IEP). If a special education student’s IEP states that alternative promotion/retention standards are required, those alternative promotion/retention standards must be described by the IEP committee on the student’s IEP. If a student’s IEP does not require alternative promotion and retention standards, he/she would be subject to the requirements specified elsewhere in this policy.
