For all the pieces, I used canvas board rather than traditional canvases. This was because they are way easy to transport and are harder to break or rip. I made the regular pieces as big as 12x17 while the abstract interpretations were around 8x12. In terms of medium, I chose to use blending markers for every piece. While this may seem to be an unprofessional and lazy artistic choice, it is actually very purposeful. As I've mentioned before, I really wanted the focus of this project to be around what shapes and colors convey certain emotions to a piece. Because of this, I wanted to eliminate any misleading textures or brushstrokes to avoid taking the focus away from the colors and visuals. Additionally, markers are very easy to blend and fix mistakes, while paint or colored pencil take a lot more time and precision. Lastly, I wanted to use a medium that could fit with each emotion, so I thought markers were a good and neutral choice.
